Hi, Welcome to Emperor Wars, a medieval based game where you control and train troops. It is entirely text based. Below will be the current version ruleset. Please remember that some rules are more important than others, but all should be followed.
Forum Rules
These rules apply to everywhere on the forum.
1)Be nice, don't go overboard with trash talk and gloating, and it's better just to not start in the first place.
2)Respect staff. Even if you yourself are a staff member then you should not ignore fellow moderators. If you go far against the moderator's wishes it will be considered openly defying staff, which can lead to a ban if serious enough.
3)Minimalize swearing. I don't want to see a (censored) in every post by someone. Using them sparingly is okay, but purposely bypassing the system will lead to post count reduction and even suspension in repeat offenders.
4) Don't troll! If you keep making stupid comments and contribute nothing to this board, you will most likely be banned. Repeat offenders (I can see your IP address!) will be IP banned.
5) Don't spam and post pointless topics. This will be considered trolling if it becomes too much.
Game Rules
Now we're getting to what you came here for, the actual game rules.
a)Your progress will be recorded by a log, which will be updated every day or so, hopefully The rules for every log will be posted below.
b)Every day you gain 1,000 coins. These are used to run projects and as currency for trade.
c)To use projectile weapons you need to research ammunition for it. For example, if you wanted to make bows then you would have to research arrows for them.
2c)In addition to research, you have to build the ammo after you research it. most things are about 500 per day, but some might be slower if they are more powerful, like catapult ammo.
d)Everything needs resources to make. Anything physical (not research and the like) requires some kind of metal or other material to make. This includes weapons and armor, and the ammo mentioned above.
2d)To gather resources, you need a mine. Mines cost a varying amount of coins to run that must be paid each day. For example, a wood mill requires 50 coins per day to run, while an iron Mine requires 350 coins per day to run. It is also a varying amount of days to make these mines.
e)Coins are gathered every day by constant taxes and trade. You get a base amount of 1,000, but this can be improved by adding payment building, allowing for more effective collection of taxes. Each payment building provides 500 extra coins per day, but can only increase the income to 2,000 coins per day. Payment centers take 20 days to build.
f)Projects are what make the world go 'round. Without them, you will not accomplish anything. They are used to train troops and build buildings. They do everything from constructing a wall to training archers to be more accurate, to making a cathedral to invigorate your troops with righteous fury before a battle. You begin with two project slots. You can construct an Engineer's Academy to make one more slot. You may construct up to two additional ones, making up to five slots. Academies take 20 days to build.
g)Troops will protect you and fight for you. Your army will typically have one or two types of each troop. The troops are combat (A troop good in close combat with superior speed and training), ranged (A group consisting of soldiers with some form of ranged attack that aren't good in close combat), special (Who are things like healers and spies), and the last class is the elite class,(troops that take much longer to train but are much more powerful, often multitasking.) If an attacker storms your castle and kills you, your empire goes into anarchy! Anarchy will cause your city to fall into disrepair, and you will need to make a new empire to continue playing. Don't let that discourage you though! Just come back and get payback for having your army wrecked.
h)While magic does not exist in this game, mythical creatures do! You can recruit pegasi and hyppogryphs for an air force, or have a pet hydra! Just don't go too overboard...
i)Almost through! Your troops will be nearly useless without weapons and armor! Don't worry, it's simple. A project will just be needed at about how long it took to make the troop to make a piece of equipment. For example to make 100 bronze armor pieces for your foot soldiers, it might take one day and fifty bronze chunks, if each 100 foot soldiers took one day as well.
j)You may have one ally, two treaties, and a bunch of enemies. Allies work together to make a very strong combined force for attacking. Treaties are made and the two parties become neutral towards each other. The ally of the treaty maker must also make a treaty towards the other person. Enemies are people that you have attacked with a raid party or higher, and cannot become off of your list or any other status without first officially making peace with them.
k)HAVE FUN!!!(yeah, it's a cliche....)
Starter Rules:
This ruleset is for people who have officially decided to play.
-You gain 1,000 coins per day
-One day of project will generally get you 100 combat, ranged, or special troops, or about ten elite troops.
-You can make your troops into whatever you want, as long as it follows basic guidelines for the type and isn't overpowered.
-Post a mailbox, log thread, troop descriptions, and base and tech description threads once you have your sub-board.
-A project takes 250 times its day count in coins, so a ten day project would take 2,500 coins.
-You begin with 500 troops that can be dispersed to any category, but take a zero off if applying to the elites category.
-To fight someone, post a thread saying who you are attacking, with what, and what equipment. A moderator will then write the battle once getting plans from both sides.
-Not sending in plans will most likely lead to a massacre, so don't just go "ah, I'll be fine anyways!"
-You also start with 10,000 coins.
-You may have your pick of either 5 days of buildings (a 5 day stone wall), 5 days of research (5 day arrow ammunition), or a 5 day mine (wood mill). You must pick 5 or less days worth of something, and cannot just take 5 days off of a project for one.
-Base defenses give you a large "home field advantage" to aid in attacks against you. Burning oil down your shirt ain't exactly comfortable. They are counted as buildings and built in the project slots.
-Upgrades take no resources and are generally for troops, though buildings can receive them too. Armor is NOT an upgrade!
-There is no daily troop gain besides the beginning troops, all others much be trained in a project slot.
-Mines and trading are the only ways to acquire needed materials, besides coins. Be careful though, a large stockpile is just asking to be taken by force.
-The commander is the emperor of your force. He is just a named character for battle storyline.
-You begin with the barracks and storage.
-Storage holds documents and other stuff.
-Without barracks your troops perform worse in combat.
-You do not need resources to build mines.
